Fastnet Rock ex Hips Dont Lie filly conformation shot

$1.1 Million Fastnet Filly

Champion sire Fastnet Rock fired up at the 2016 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale on Wednesday to produce the two highest priced fillies of the sale so far. Consigned for sale by Coolmore, the full sister to Group I placed stakes-winner Lake Geneva made $1.1 million to the bid of leading trainer Gerald Ryan acting for Jadeskye Racing / Nordic Breeding & Racing. The star filly is the fourth foal of Group II winning Stravinsky mare Hips Don’t Lie, who has been to Fastnet Rock for six seasons in succession and is in foal to him now. Selling for just shy of $1million was Newgate Farm’s Fastnet Rock filly from Group II winner Kosi Bay that made $950,000 to the bid of John Chalmers Bloodstock. She is from a half-sister to stakes-winner Striker, the dam of last weekend’s Group III WATC Oaks winner First Impressions.
