$1.5 Million Sale-Topper for Uncle Mo

A stunning filly by Uncle Mo topped the 2017 Fasig-Tipton Gulfstream Sale of 2YO’s in Florida when fetching $1.5million.

Consigned by Cary Frommer and purchased by Oxo Equine, the show-stopping filly galloped a furlong in 10.1 seconds and is a full sister to stakes-placed Mighty Mo from Flowers Atthefinish.

She was bred in Kentucky by Machmer Hall and bought by Frommer for $250,000 from Dromoland at last year's Fasig-Tipon July yearling sale.

She was initially purchased in the name of Nitiosagan Farm as a weanling for $50,000 from the Select Sales offerings at the 2015 Keeneland November breeding stock sale, so has been a regular visitor to the sale ring.

"She was so incredibly busy," Frommer said of the interest pre-sale in the filly.

"The poor thing walked, and walked, and walked for every single person who ever came to Gulfstream. She was just so popular and always walking. Sometimes that happens and it still doesn't work out. It certainly doesn't work out this way very often."

This year's sale also marked the second in a row in which Frommer sold an Uncle Mo juvenile for seven figures. Last year, an Uncle Mo colt Frommer purchased as a yearling for $90,000 was sold for $1 million.

Uncle Mo also had a filly from Afleet Maggi sell for $750,000.
