100,000 euros Duke filly heads Goffs

A daughter of Duke Of Marmalade stole the show at the Goffs February Sale on Thursday when selling for 100,000 euros.

Moyglare Stud home-bred Candle Lit (3f Duke Of Marmalade-Diamond Trim, by Highest Honor) had many fanciers but it was local agent Cathy Grassick who came good with her six-figure offer.

Candle Lit is a three-parts sister to multiple G3 winner and G1-placed Profound Beauty (by Danehill) and is out of a half-sister to last season’s G2 Ribblesdale Stakes winner Irresistible Jewel.

“She’s been bought on behalf of an established client,” Grassick told EBN. “This was a great and very rare opportunity to get into this family, as Moyglare just don’t sell fillies from this family and she is the first one in two generations to come up for sale, so we are delighted to have gotten her.”
