A first-crop daughter of the brilliant Canford Cliffs topped trading on the concluding day of Doncaster’s DBS Premier Sale on Wednesday when selling for £180,000 to Derby-winning owners Saleh Al Homaizi and Imad Al Sagar.
Out of the Danehill Dancer mare Decorative, the filly was offered from the Barry family’s Manister House Stud and showed a handsome return on her 23,000gns foal price as Tony Nerses, representing the successful buyers, saw off agent Amanda Skiffington.
“She is a beautiful filly with a lovely head and very athletic movement. We all really liked her,” Nerses told EBN.
It was excellent sale for Canford Cliffs with Nerses also paying £140,000 for a colt out of Child Bride (by Coronado’s Quest) sold from Biddestone Stud while David Wachman snapped up another Canford Cliffs colt for £105,000.
The five-time G1-winning sire had also been in demand at Arqana’s August Yearling Sale at Deauville with the Mandore International agency picking up a filly for €160,000.
