210,000gns for first crop son of Magician

A colt from the first crop of Galileo’s multiple Gr.1 winning son Magician made a splash at the Tattersalls October Yearling sale in Newmarket yesterday.

Offered as Lot 724 by Mick Fitzpatrick’s Kilminfoyle House Stud, the strapping bay colt out of Perfect Step fetched 210,000gns (US$290,000) when knocked down to Amanda Skiffington on behalf of MV Magnier. It is a great pinhook result for Kilminfoyle House Stud and JC Bloodstock, the Magician colt was bought for $95,000 at Keeneland last November. With eleven of Galileo’s sons having sired Gr.1 winners already, the future looks bright for Magician, who proved himself one of the most talented when winning the Irish 2,000 Guineas-Gr.1 and Breeders’ Cup Turf-Gr.1 at Santa Anita.
