High Chaparral Colt Tops NZ Weanlings

A stunning bay colt by High Chaparral topped the 2012 NZB National Weanling Sale on Tuesday when selling for $150,000.

Consigned by Northfields Stud the colt was purchased by NZB and is from Group III placed Soelin, a grand-daughter of Group I winner Soliloquy, whose many star descendants include Group I winners Culminate, Captivate, Eileen Dubh and Cross Swords.

The colt was bought on behalf of Mark and Shelly Treweek’s Lyndhurst Farm with plans for him to feature at the Karaka Yearling Sales next year.

“We thought this colt was very much like the High Chaparral colt out of Creil that we sold for $650,000 in the Premier Sale here this year and we are very pleased to have ended up with him,” commented Mark Treweek.
