After two sessions of the 2016 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale, exciting young sire Uncle Mo was leading the sire averages with four youngsters averaging $131,500 and his top seller achieving the second highest price of the sale to date when fetching $280,000.
Sold late on Sunday, the Uncle Mo colt from Victory Tycoon offered by Marquee Stud attracted keen interest with Michael Wallace securing him for China Horse Club
“I expected he would sell pretty well that’s for sure,” said Michael Wallace. “He’s by a stallion on the rise, they have got a really good following in America and this is a beautiful colt.
“It was a little bit more than expected but these really top colts have been exceeding their mark all week.”
Wallace said that the colt looked to be an early type of horse as was his sire.
“He is a very balanced horse and handled the last four or five days very well without putting a foot out of line,” he added.
“He’s got a good temperament on him and he’s an early type of horse. We will get going with him and see where we end up.”
The star colt is the fourth foal for Victory Tycoon, a half-sister by Secret Savings to HK Group I winner Joyful Winner.
