2YO Winner for Shanghai Bobby

Shanghai Bobby posted an impressive debut winner at Keeneland on Friday with a smart effort from Shanghaied Roo (2c Shanghai Bobby x Hollye Lynne, by Uncle Abbie) in a highly competitive juvenile maiden featuring runners by first season sires Verrazano and No Nay Never.

A homebred for Tom Durant, trained by Bret Calhoun, Shanghaied Roo raced up on the pace and forged clear to win the four and a half furlong maiden by two and a half lengths over Myhotrodlincoln (2c Verrazano x Mylittledecuecoupe, by Lion Heart) and heavily favored No Bang No Boom (2c No Nay Never x Boom Boom Vroom, by Zensational).

Shanghaied Roo is the fourth winner from stakes-winner Hollye Lynne.
