More quality first crop foals for Ivawood

Ivawood, one of the best 2yo’s in Europe in 2014, is impressing breeders with his first foals.

John Malone reported that Musical Peace produced a “big, strong bay filly”. Musical Peace is a winning half-sister to Stakes winners Pugin and Chartres (also dam of Gr.2 winner Certerach) and to the dam of Gr.2 winner Lilbourne Lad.

Beauthea, owned by Fiona McStay, foaled “a lovely bay colt with plenty of size and bone”. Beauthea, a dual winner and fourth in the Gr.2 Debutante Stakes, is from the family of Gr.1 winner Simple Verse and Gr.2 winner Even Song.

Rainbow Song, owned by Massimo Marchetti of Allevamento Gialloblu, had a colt and Patrick Headon of Wraymount Stud noted that “he’s a very good foal with size and strength, a smashing first foal for the mare”. Rainbow Song is closely related to Gr.1 Del Mar Oaks winner Dublino.

David Byrne was very happy with his Ivawood foal out of Sharp Applause commenting “Had a cracking colt foal last night, delighted!” Owned in partnership with Pierce Molony, Sharp Applause is from the family of Invincible Spirit, Kodiac and Pride of Dubai.

Ivawood won both the Gr.2 Richmond Stakes and Gr.2 July Stakes in very fast times and stands for €7,500 in 2017.
