$425,000 for Scat Daddy Filly

Scat Daddy has had some good results at the OBS April 2YO’s in Training Sale led by a gorgeous filly from Saint Bernadette that sold for $425,000.

Consigned by Woodside Ranch as agent, the filly was bought by Green Hills Farm and has been a successful pinhook all the way through fetching $27,000 as a weanling and then $58,000 as a yearling before her third trip to the sale ring.

Donato Lanni signed for the colt while standing next to trainer Michael Matz.

“We liked the look of the filly and it’s a young family,” Matz explained.

The filly is from Grade II placed Saint Bernadette, a grand-daughter of stakes-winner Classy Tricks.

Bryan and Holley Rice of Woodside Ranch were delighted with the sale and reflected on why they liked the filly as a yearling.

“Her balance and physical presentation and, of course, I was very keen on the sire,” Bryan Rice said.
Also a good result for Scat Daddy at this sale was his filly from La Violette that made $220,000 and a colt from Robbie’s Gal that fetched $150,000.
