Champion sire Fastnet Rock provided the equal highest priced yearling on day one of the Magic Millions Sale at the Gold Coast on Wednesday.
Bred and offered for sale by Baramul Stud, the powerful bay filly from Zavana was secured by CC Lai and will be trained by Chris Waller.
“A very nice filly,” Waller said.
“She has a great pedigree and is by Fastnet Rock, who needs no introduction. She still has to do it on the track obviously but that is about what we expected to pay.
“Fortunately I’ve got a good backer in Mr Lai, he’s been a great supporter of mine for several years now and it’s great to see him spending some money on quality Australian horses.”
The session topping filly is the second foal of Zavana, a half-sister by Encosta de Lago to Cox Plate winner and leading sire Savabeel.
