Making a big splash at the Barretts March 2YO Sale on Monday was a stunning colt from the first crop of promising young sire Dunkirk that made $575,000 to be the second highest priced offering at the sale.
Consigned for sale by Excel Bloodstock, the half-brother to stakes-placed Among the Willows from Missy Turtle was bought by Demi O’Byrne.
The dashing gray colt became the fastest horse to ever work at Barretts when he turned in a furlong drill in :9 3/5 on Friday.
The sale provided a great result for Bruno De Berdt’s Excel Bloodstock as they purchased the colt for just $50,000 at last year’s Fasig-Tipton Kentucky October sale.
Excel Bloodstock also scored a big hit with a filly by Henrythenavigator from Delighted Cat that made $310,000 when snapped up by Gary Broad.
She too was only a $50,000 purchase from the Keeneland September Yearling Sale.
