$600,000 for Fastnet Rock Colt

The much anticipated Teeley Assets Reduction provided the top sellers during the first session of the Magic Millions National Weanling Sale on Sunday at the Gold Coast with a colt by champion sire Fastnet Rock stealing the show. The striking bay was snapped up for $600,000 by a partnership between US based Stonestreet Stables and Coolmore Stud. "He's a beautiful horse," said John Moynihan of Stonestreet Stables. "We loved him physically, he has a great pedigree and if he runs he's a major stallion prospect. "We're excited. Coolmore will own half of him and we're going to race him with them. "He's an exceptionally bred horse, he's very physical and by a great stallion. He's the right sort of horse to have a shot with." The star colt is the first foal of unraced Hussonet mare Your Life Style, a half-sister to Group III winner Precious Lorraine and stakes-winner Lucky Raquie from the family of Group I stars Redoute’s Choice, Manhattan Rain, Platinum Scissors and this season’s star two year-old colt Rubick. Fastnet Rock also had a good result with a colt from Paint by Numbers fetching $220,000 for Coolmore when secured by Blandford Bloodstock.
