$600,000 for Fastnet Rock Filly at Keeneland

Champion Australian sire Fastnet Rock again made his presence felt at the Keeneland September Yearling Sale on day two with a stunning filly selling for $600,000.

Consigned by Lane’s End on behalf of Mt Brilliant Farm, the dashing bay is from stakes-placed So Stylish, a sibling to Group I winner and sire One Cool Cat.

She was bought by Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa al Thani’s Al Shahania Stud with bloodstock agent Dean Lavy doing the bidding.

“She has a very European pedigree, and we thought, yeah, we could get one [by the sire] in Europe, but she was a great physical specimen and was just one of those horses that jumps out at you,” explained Lavy.

The only other offering by Fastnet Rock on Tuesday was a high class colt from the Galileo mare Vapour that made $460,000 for Greenwood Lodge Farm when secured by L.E.B.
