75,000gns Getaway colt stars at Tatts

A first-crop son of Getaway provided one of the big pinhooking successes in Newmarket on Monday at the opening session of Book 2 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale.

Out of the Intikhab mare Persian Heroine and from the family of Snow Fairy, the colt rocketed in price from the 16,000gns he had cost as a foal when selling from Corduff Stud for 75,000gns to agent Tina Rau.

David Egan of Corduff Stud told EBN: “Richard Brown is a big help to us and he picked the colt out (as a foal). Getaway is a son of Monsun - I don’t know too much more about him to be honest, but the colt had a good female side.

“We are exclusively flat orientated and the National Hunt side of it is outside my comfort zone. I would sure like another one like him, though.”
