Evergreen sire Choisir added a 75th stakes-winner to his tally in Ireland on Saturday when brilliant filly Yulong Baobei (2f Choisir x Bless You, by Bahamian Bounty) captured the Listed Excelebration Tipperary Stakes as a hot favourite.
Last seen finishing seventh in the Listed Windsor Castle Stakes at Royal Ascot following a win and a second at her first two runs, Yulong Baobei was too quick and too professional for her rivals in this five furlong sprint.
The Michael Halford trained filly made all the running and dashed away to win by nearly four lengths.
“She´s an exciting filly and really professional, she just naturally knows her job. She´s strong and mature and sprinting is her game; she did well to come back from Ascot like she did today. She picked up smartly and hit the line really strongly,” said her trainer.
Bought for just 13,000 euros by BBA Ireland at the Goffs Yearling Sale last year, Yulong Baobei runs for Chinese billionaire Zhang Yuesheng, whose Yulong Investments is increasingly becoming a major player in world bloodstock.
Yulong Baobei is the first winner for Bless You, a Bahamian Bounty mare from the family of Group I winning sprinter and sire Kyllachy.
