8 six-figure lots for Canford Cliffs

Canford Cliffs was the epitomy of reliability as a racehorse and his first crop are proving equally consistent in the sale rings with eight lots making €100,000 or more at Goffs this week.

On Wednesday, M V Magnier paid €200,000 for a Canford Cliffs colt (pictured) out of half-sister to Excellent Art sold by Rathbarry Stud and the brilliant miler’s progeny attracted a wide variety of different buyers.

Other Canford Cliffs yearlings made €190,000 (David Wachman), €160,000 (Flaxman Stables Ireland), €160,000 (M V Magnier), €125,000 (David Redvers), €105,000 (Bobby O’Ryan), €105,000 (Federico Barberini) and €100,000 (Japan Health Summit Inc).

These followed prices of £180,000 and £140,000 at DBS and €160,000 at Arqana in August.
