9-length G1 win for superb Min

Min (5g Walk In The Park-Phemyka, by Saint Estephe) brought more G1 glory for Walk In The Park at Leopardstown when cementing his position as Ireland’s top two-mile novice chase with a commanding victory. Ruby Walsh was at always at the forefront of the G1 Racing Post Novice Chase, putting in an impressive jumping display, and he had nine lengths to spare over runner-up Ordinary World at the finish. Trainer Willie Mullins was impressed with the performance and Min is rated just a 5/2 chance for the G1 Arkle Chase at Cheltenham. "He left the rest of them for dead. Jumping is the name of the game and he jumped from fence to fence and anything that tried to lie up with him, they just couldn't handle it,” said Mullins. "He didn't have respect for his hurdles and ran too free, but he has a lot more respect for fences which helps him to settle. That probably helps to give him more pace at the end of his races now. "He's matured more over the summer as well. He looks Arkle material, although he could go out in trip.” Walsh was fulsome in his praise for the son of Walk In The Park, comparing him to the great Kauto Star. "I was happy with him in Navan but he impressed me today. He reminds me of Kauto,” said Walsh. “I was impressed with him. I didn't think we went slow, he jumped super and I love the way he quickened up. "I'd imagine with the pace he shows you wouldn't need to be going much further at the minute, even though he probably could.”
