Another for Strategic Prince

The Mick Channon-trained Captain Cardington (2c Strategic Prince-Alkaffeyah, by Sadler’s Wells) scored impressively at Epsom on Thursday night.

The Strategic Prince colt was going away from the field as he took the seven-furlong maiden by three-quarters of a length.

Captain Cardington, who was bought for 72,000gns as a yearling by Gill Richardson, was bred by Brian Williamson and is a sibling to the black-type performers Tholjanah, Ta-Lim and Mudaa-Eb.

Strategic Prince’s exciting first crop also includes La Collina (2f Strategic Prince-Starfish, by Galileo), who recently made an impressive winning debut for trainer Kevin Prendergast at Limerick
