Another G1 Score for Dylan Thomas

Final Score (Dylan Thomas) being led in after winning the G1 Premio Lydia Tesio in Italy

For a second consecutive Sunday, Dylan Thomas enjoyed G1 success in Italy when Final Score (3f Dylan Thomas-Holy Moon, by Hernando) took the G1 Premio Lydia Tesio.

The Italian Oaks heroine fought off German raider Lacy under Fabio Branca to land the 10-furlong G1, and follow in the steps of Dylan Mouth (3c Dylan Thomas-Cottonmouth, by Noverre), who took the previous weekend’s G1 Gran Premio del Jockey Club by four lengths.

Winning trainer Stefano Botti told EBN: “All credit to Fabio, he rode a fantastic race. We are concerned about the trip, which was shorter than ideal, but Final Score is a very good filly. She stayed on and battled gamely to score.”

Branca added: “I wanted to set a stronger pace but Final Score prefers to have a leader to follow. Vague Nouvelle was a big help and Final Score started to pick up when pressed by the others.”
