Another New Stakes-Winner for Uncle Mo

Talented filly Ultra Brat (3f Uncle Mo x Prof. McGonagall, by Storm Cat) produced an impressive last to first win in the $100,000 Christiecat Stakes at Belmont on Friday.

Trained by Graham Motion, Ultra Brat flew home from last to win the six furlong sprint on turf by a neck, her third win from six starts.

“We've always wanted to try her on the grass and this seemed like a good spot,” Alice Clapham, assistant to Motion, said.

“She just broke a step slow out of the gate, but Joel [Rosario] did the right thing to let her settle there, and then when she got comfortable, she made a nice move. She's just been getting stronger throughout the year.”

A homebred for Alex Campbell, Ultra Brat is a half-sister to Grade III winner It’s Tea Time and is the 19th stakes-winner for red hot sire Uncle Mo.
