Ask Nile a smart winner at Dromahane

Ask enjoyed a first-crop point-to-point victory on Sunday when Ask Nile (4g Ask-Spirit Of The Nile, by Generous), bred by Geoffrey Thompson, won a 4YO Maiden at Dromahane by 3 lengths. “Ask Nile an impressive winner today,” tweeted Derek O’Connor. “One of many high class horses around the country by his sire Ask.”

“Bridgetown-based handler Seamus Neville sent out his wife Ina’s Ask Nile (3/1) to oblige with consummate ease,” reported Neil O’Donnell in the Irish Examiner.

Others from the first crop of Ask include Durrow runner-up Orchard Thieves who was purchased by David Pipe for £115,000 at the Tattersalls Ireland Cheltenham Festival Sale.

Ask, a dual Group 1 winner by Sadler’s Wells – just like King’s Theatre, stands for a fee of €3,000 at The Beeches Stud.
