Auteuil double for Soldier Of Fortune

Soldier Of Fortune was the toast of Prix La Barka day at Auteuil on Saturday when responsible for two big chase winners. First up was the improving mare Belle Et Riche (5m Soldier Of Fortune-Beautiful Delight, by Tiger Hill) who won the Prix Astote, a conditions event over an extended 2m 5f, for trainer Mickael Seror (pictured). “Belle Et Riche is a very tough mare,” Seror told JDG. “Last time out she was beaten by Bel Canto Valtat, who is very good in my opinion. Belle Et Riche is a mare that I’ve always liked and I stressed to my client that he should buy her. “I was always very confident about today’s race and she’ll now step up to the G2 Prox des Drags to test her against the elite.” Successful on the same card was the Guillaume Macaire-trained four-year-old Bleu Azur (4g Soldier Of Fortune-Black Dalhia, by Sanglamore) who took the Prix Samour by seven lengths under James Reveley.
