Ballydoyle weekend Group runners – Aidan O’Brien’s comments

Royal Lodge Stakes-Gr.2, 1m
Kingfisher hasn’t done a lot since his run at Leopardstown three weeks ago when he finished third behind Australia in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Trial, but he seems in good form and we’re happy with him.”

C L Weld Park Stakes-Gr.3, 7f
“Although we’re running Minorette back quite soon – only two weeks after she finished third in the Flame Of Tara Stakes at the Curragh – she is in good form. She’s dropping back in trip, but we don’t see that being a problem for her.”

Blenheim Stakes-L.R., 6f
“It is only two weeks since Guerre won his maiden over the course and distance. He should have learned from it and we’re happy with him. This race will tell us more about what targets there might be for him.”

Beresford Stakes-Gr.2, 1m
“We decided to give Geoffrey Chaucer a good break after he won over the distance on his debut at Leopardstown. He’s in good form and we think he’s ready for this return. Oklahoma City‘s three runs, including his second in the Group 3 Anglesey Stakes, were over six furlongs. This is a big step up in trip for him but we think he will stay the distance.”

Loughbrown Stakes-L.R., 2m
Eye Of The Storm came on well from his run at Galway early this month to win at Listowel last week. We’re happy with him and the reason we’re stepping him up in distance is that we want to see what options we might have with him next year.”
