Belle stars at Goodwood for Canford Cliffs

Bournemouth Belle (Canford Cliffs) winning a six furlong maiden at Goodwood

Canford Cliffs enjoyed another useful winner at Goodwood on Saturday when the Richard Hannon-trained Bournemouth Belle (2f Canford Cliffs-Ellbeedee, by Dalakhani) scored under Pat Dobbs.

The filly, bred by Newsells Park Stud and Ballylinch Stud, carried Jeremy Gompertz’s colours to success in the six-furlong maiden, justifying odds-on favouritism to win by a length and three-quarters.

“BOURNEMOUTH BELLE … stayed on best inside the final final to win comfortably. She had run well over 5f on debut but was suited by this extra furlong and looks to be going the right way,” commented the Racing Post.
