Black Caviar Dam in Foal to Canford Cliffs

Blue Gum Farm in Victoria, Australia has been the Southern Hemisphere base for Royal Ascot superstar Canford Cliffs, who covered a top class book of mares in 2014 headed by outstanding producer Helsinge, the dam of world champion sprinter Black Caviar (pictured).

Owned by Rick Jamieson of Gilgai Farm, 13 year-old Helsinge is the dam of not only Black Caviar, but also four-time Group I winner All Too Hard and her last three yearlings to sell at public auction have all topped the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale selling for $1,025,000, $2.6 million and $5million.

The first Australian bred offspring of Canford Cliffs are yearlings and his lone entry for the 2015 Magic Millions was a colt from Alteration that was consigned for sale by Coolmore and fetched $100,000 at the Gold Coast on Wednesday.

The majority of his Australian offspring headed for public auction will be offered at the 2015 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale in Victoria in early March.
