Trainer John Oxx plans to step Colour Rhapsody (2f Rip Van Winkle-Truly Mine, by Rock Of Gibraltar) up to stakes company after the Rip Van Winkle filly scored at Tipperary on Saturday.
The well-backed favourite, bred by the late Gita Weld, took the 12-runner contest comfortably under Declan McDonogh.
“We’ll look for black-type, that’s what owner-breeders want. She is a well-bred filly and will get further,” Oxx told the Racing Post. “She was slowly away at the Curragh on her first start and was slowly away again – you think she’d have learnt.”
The Racing Post Analysis commented: “There is no doubt she should get at least a mile and her stallion continues to impress at this early stage. Black-type looks a formality.”
