The Jimmy Mangan-trained Noras Fancy (6m Brian Boru-Verney Bird, by Prince Of Birds) captured the Listed Kerry Group EBF Mares Novice Hurdle in good style at Limerick on Sunday.
The Brian Boru mare took the two-mile contest by two and three-quarter lengths and she relished the heavy underfoot conditions.
“The ground is the key to her. She will be left off when the ground dries out,” Mangan told www.irishracing.com. “She has had a long campaign and this is great. We have no plans for her now.”
The Racing Post’s analysis noted: “It was a good performance from a mare that is very good when conditions are right.”
Noras Fancy was continuing an excellent season for Brian Boru, who has also been represented by the exciting three-time novice chase winner Bold Sir Brian (6g Brian Boru-Black Queen, by Bob Back), winner of last year’s G2 Premier Novices’ Hurdle at Kelso.
