Brave G3 winner for Starspangledbanner

Improving four-year-old Home Of The Brave (4c Starspangledbanner-Blissful Beat, by Beat Hollow) looks set to contest some top international G1 events after winning the G3 Timeform Jury Stakes at Haydock on Saturday. The Starspangledbanner colt, bred by Ecurie du Grand Chene, was having his first start since for Godolphin as he battled well to take the seven-furlong Haydock event from Convey under James Doyle, Trainer Hugo Palmer was impressed with the run and commented: “What I loved today was the way he had to dig deep as in all his races previously, he's either won easily or been beaten a long way. "Today he was softened up by Breton Rock but still fought off Convey. I told James to not be afraid to mess about with the pace, which he did, but he felt he may have won easier if he'd just let him roll. "There is a G1 at Saratoga in June for him, beyond that there's the G1 Shadwell Mile at Keeneland and the G1 Breeders' Cup Mile.” Doyle added: "He relaxed quite well and when I asked him to pick up, he took a couple of strides. He's a horse that's improving all the time. He's very forward going but he has a great attitude and is always willing to please.”
