Canford Cliffs filly Bumbasina continues on upgrade

Bumbasina (3f Canford Cliffs-New Plays, by Oratorio) made it two wins from as many starts this season when capturing a mile conditions event at Killarney on Tuesday evening.

The Canford Cliffs filly, trained by Willie McCreery for owner-breeder Renzo Forni, hit the front two furlongs out under Billy Lee and battled gamely to win.

McCreery won this contest with subsequent Listed winner Erysimum in 2016 and he is hopeful that Bumbasina will show similar progress.

“I won this last year with Erysimum and if Bumbasina can go on and do as well it would be great,” said McCreery. “She can be lazy but still finds more. The plan worked out well today and Billy gave her a lovely ride.”

In-form Canford Cliffs also sired a double at Beverley on Tuesday afternoon.
