Chilean Grade I Double for Scat Daddy

Scat Daddy has proven a resounding success in South America adding further to his Southern Hemisphere achievements with a Grade I juvenile double in Chile courtesy of Dacita (2f Scat Daddy x Daja, by Seeker’s Reward) and Southern Cat (2c Scat Daddy x Saturnal, by Seeker’s Reward).

Trained by Juan Silva, Dacita led home a trifecta for Scat Daddy in the Grade I Clasico Atruro Lyon Pena, winning the 1600 metre turf feature by a nose over Mi Coqueta (2f Scat Daddy x Mi Graciosa, by Gracioso II) and Oshawa (2f Scat Daddy x Osezna, by Seeker’s Reward).

Dacita has won four races and placed twice from six starts and is a half-sister to stakes-winner Lady Estefania from the good producer Daja.

She is the second filly by Scat Daddy to win this race following in the footsteps of Solaria, who won last year and also led home a trifecta for Scat Daddy.

Also from the Juan Silva stable is progressive colt Southern Cat, who turned in a career best performance to win the Grade I Clasico Tanteo de Potrillos over 1500 metres.

Group placed twice previously, Southern Cat scored by a head, his second win from eight starts.

Dacita and Southern Cat are the seventh and eighth Grade I winners for Scat Daddy, whose progeny haven proven a sensation in South America.
