Choisir’s son Obviously (3g Choisir-Leala, by Montjeu) was the star lot at Tattersalls on Thursday when selling for 130,000gns on the final day of the Autumn Horses In Training Sale.
The three-year-old, who was bred by Deidre Cogan, has won two of his three starts in Ireland for trainer Peter Fahey and is now set to continue his racing career in California after selling for agent Jamie Lloyd, in conjunction with Craig Rounsefell of Boomer Bloodstock.
Rounsefell told EBN: “He was very good looking with a great big walk and the pick for us over the whole sale. It surprised us he was here on Thursday.”
Lloyd added: “He’ll be joining Mike Mitchell in California. He’s the right type for us and he should get two turns over there. He’s lightly-raced but has shown that he can act on turf and dirt.”
Meanwhile, keep an eye out for star Italian juvenile Choisir Shadow (2f Choisir-Mujadil Shadow, by Mujadil) in the upcoming G2 Criterium de Maisons-Laffitte.
“Choisir Shadow is moving brilliantly and she could turn into a superstar over six furlongs,” trainer Bruno Grizzetti told EBN. “I rate her very highly; the way she won the Listed Criterium Nazionale in a very fast time was really impressive. I trained some fast juveniles but she probably is the best. She worked on Tuesday morning after some rain and showed her usual blazing speed.”
