Cool Getaway (Getaway) winning a point-to-point at Tattersalls

Classy debut winner for Getaway

Cool Getaway (4g Getaway-Coolnacarriga, by Saddlers’ Hall) brought more first-crop success for Getaway when scoring on his first start at Tattersalls Farm on Sunday. The Stuart Crawford-trained four-year-old was sent off a well-backed favourite for his debut and he cruised home three lengths clear of what looked a useful field. “The first division of the four-year-old geldings' maiden saw ten go to post and it looked to be an ultra-competitive contest likely to produce a number of smart types…. It’s is worth noting that the two market principals filled the first two places while the likes of Ravensdale and The Ogle Gogle Man had shown previous promise giving depth to the form," commented p2p.ie “COOL GETAWAY (IRE) was clearly highly thought of at home having been well backed before the off. This debutant son of Getaway was waited with in mid division for much of the contest. Trained by Stuart Crawford, the bay caught the eye travelling well after four out. Coming to challenge at the third last, Ben Crawford’s mount picked up the running turning in and quickened up impressively, overcoming an error at the last, to win in good fashion. Out of a bumper-winning mare, this four-year-old winner will be an exciting prospect under Rules. He has the pace to take a Bumper before appearing to possess the potential to rise to a very high level over obstacles.” Bred  by John O’Brien, Cool Getaway was bought for €40,000 at the Goffs Land Rover Sale last year by owner Roy Wilson.
