Debut Saratoga Winner Stay Thirsty

Promising young sire Stay Thirsty added another winner to the tally with an impressive debut victory at Saratoga on Saturday for Thirst for Victory (2c Stay Thirsty x Magical Victory, by Victory Gallop).

The Todd Pletcher trained colt was favourite for the seven furlong maiden and despite being slowly away was able to muster speed to take up a stalking position.

He ran away from his rivals in the sloppy conditions to win by a commanding three lengths.

An $80,000 Keeneland September purchase, Thirst for Victory runs for the Repole Stable and is from stakes-placed Magical Victory.

Thirst for Victory has a yearling half-brother by Uncle Mo and a weanling full-sister. Magical Victory was bred back to another Coolmore sire this year in Declaration of War.

Thirst for Victory is the sixth winner for Stay Thirsty, who is making a pleasing start to his stud career.
