The Jean-Claude Rouget trained debutante La Michodiere (3f Power-Lady Gray, by High Chaparral) was a very fitting winner of the €30,000 Prix de la Michodiere on French 1,000 Guineas day at Deauville.
Jockey Christophe Soumillon was impressed with the winner, commenting “She’s a good filly, with quality, and can progress further. ”
La Michodiere, bred by Edgeridge Ltd & Glenvale Stud, is the first foal from Lady Gray, a winning half-sister to G3 Prestige Stakes winner Sesmen. Lady Gray also has a 2YO filly by Most Improved named Blazing Beryl in training with Brian Meehan.
There was also a first-crop Classic victory for Power on Sunday when Lubos Urbanek saddled Sir Sun (3c Power-Summer Stage, by In The Wings) to win the Czech 2,000 Guineas.
