Denham doubles up for Champs Elysees

Champs Elysees’ daughter Denham Sound (4f Champs Elysees-Presbyterian Nun, by Daylami) had her second success in little over a month at Limerick on Sunday.

The Charles Byrnes-trained filly won a Wexford maiden hurdle last month and followed up with this impressive seven-length victory under Davy Russell at Limerick.

“Davy was very positive going out there, he didn’t ask me how I wanted her ridden – he told me!,” said Byrnes. “I had no worries about her stepping up in trip and she’s consistent enough.”

Russell added: “She did it well now. I think (the step up in trip) helped her because I was able to keep her on the bridle for that bit longer. She was sweet when she was on the bridle.”
