An excellent season for Oscar continued at Fairyhouse when the progressive Dressedtothenines (6m Oscar-Regal Holly, by Gildoran) captured the G2 Keelings Irish Strawberry Hurdle on Easter Monday.
The Eddie Harty-trained mare had won her previous two starts in the colours of J P McManus and put in a career-best effort to beat Zaidpour by three and a half lengths to take the two-and-a-half mile contest.
“She’s an improving mare and is getting better as the year has gone on. I knew she was decent last year, but she is progressing well,” Harty told irishracing.com. “It’s great to get big black type with her and I’m delighted. She’s done well for us winning three on the bounce including a Grade 2. She’s only a young mare and we’ve all next season to look forward to. We’ll discuss things, but going over fences might be an option.”
Dressedtothenines, who was bred by Brian Walsh, was bought by John O’Byrne for 52,000gns as a foal at the Tattersalls Ireland November Sale.
