Dylan Thomas 3yo heads to Italian Derby after black-type win

Dylan Mouth (3c Dylan Thomas-Cottonmouth, by Noverre) looks one of the leading contenders for Italian Derby after an outstanding victory in the Listed Premio Emanuele Filiberto in Milan on Sunday for trainer Stefano Botti.

The Dylan Thomas colt kicked on after the three-furlong marker to see off his opposition with ease in the 10-furlong contest and score by three and a half lengths under jockey Fabio Branca. Bred by Azienda Agricola Mariano and owned by Scuderia Effevi, he is now unbeaten in four starts.

Branca told EBN: “I like Dylan Mouth very much; he is a very relaxed horse with a big heart. He says ‘yes’ every time you ask him to quicken.”
