Yeats Going To Shed

€120,000 Yeats colt leads way at Fairyhouse

A son of legendary stayer Yeats was the star turn at Tattersalls Ireland’s November Sale on Wednesday when selling for 120,000 euros.

The well-connected May-born colt foal is a sibling to the brilliant 16-time G1 winner Hurricane Fly (by Montjeu) and was offered from Yellowford Farm.

Ben Case, acting for Lady Jane Grosvenor, eventually bought the foal who is likely to be reoffered as a store.

“He’s a lovely, active, good walking colt and it’s not very often that you get an opportunity to buy such a well-related foal. He’s been bought on behalf of Lady Jane Grosvenor and he will be back for resale in a few years,” Case told EBN.

Milan was another sire in demand with a full-sister to last season’s ill-fated G1 Christmas Hurdle hero Darlan realising 78,000 euros when sold by breeder Martin Kilroe, through mill House Stud, to John O’Byrne.

“She’s a lovely, classy filly and hopefully she’ll have a good future both on the track and when she retires to stud,” said O’Byrne.
