Exciting Listed winner for Walk In The Park

Park Light (6g Walk In The Park-Yellow Light, by Lightning) came out in front on his first jumping start at Auteuil on Sunday. The Walk In The Park gelding, a half-brother to the outstanding jumper Cylight, is a three-time flat winner. On Sunday, he took the Listed Prix Rohan, for newcomers over hurdles and fences, in taking fashion, coming home three and a half lengths clear of the field under Marc-Olivier Belley. “He made a very good impression on me,” Belley told JDG. “I was told to wait until the last minute with him and turning for home he was full of running. He had the class from racing on the flat and that made the difference. I think I just rode one of the future top horses of Auteuil.” Owner-breeder Patrick Boiteau watched from home while foaling a mare and added: “I had tears in my eyes watching that win and he has a lot of room for improvement. He jumped very strong and the jockey always had his hands full. The horse won very easily. “I chose to cover the mare with Walk In The Park because I love Montjeu and was impressed with the sire as a two-year-old. Everything I have bred by Walk In The Park has won.” Walk In The Park moved to Coolmore’s National Hunt division for 2016.
