Exciting South African Winner for Duke of Marmalade

Royally bred Australian three year old Moofeed (3c Duke of Marmalade x Dizzy de Lago, by Encosta de Lago) scored an impressive debut win at Vaal in South Africa on Saturday for Sheikh Mohammed Bin Khalifa Al Maktoum.

Prepared by Mike de Kock, Moofeed was sent out a short priced favourite for the 14000 metre maiden and strode clear to win by two lengths.

From the first Australian crop of Danehill’s champion son Duke of Marmalade, Moofeed was foaled and raised at Coolmore for Sheikh Bin Khalifa and is a three-quarter brother to globe-trotting Group I winner Musir and half-brother to South African Group II winner Merhee.

He is the third winner from three foals to race for stakes-placed Encosta de Lago mare Dizzy de Lago, who died sadly last year.
