Fabre’s unbeaten Galileo colt stakes Classic claim

The Wertheimer brothers’ home-bred Intello (3c Galileo-Impressionnante, by Danehill) looks a contender for top honours after running out an impressive winner of the Listed Feilden Stakes at Newmarket on Wednesday. The Galileo colt was sent over from France by trainer Andre Fabre and looked an exciting prospect after scoring by three and a half lengths from King George River (3c Danehill Dancer-Butterfly Blue, by Sadler’s Wells). Intello is now unbeaten in three starts and Fabre nominated the G1 Prix du Jockey-Club, the French Derby, as a likely target. “He isn’t the most precocious, so race after race we will discover more,” Fabre said. “He won two small races in France and we came here because of the good ground. They have done a fantastic job with it. He won’t go to Epsom but he could well go for the French Derby.”
