Fame And Glory was again a stallion in fashion at the Goffs December National Hunt Sale this week.
The brilliant five-time G1 winner has been represented by some popular foals at the recent sales with prices of up to €55,000 at Tattersalls Ireland last month.
On Thursday at Goffs, the eight-year-old mare Polly’s Present realised €50,000 when sold with a Fame And Glory covering to BLM Bloodstock.
Meanwhile, a day earlier agent Aiden Murphy bought the day’s joint top-priced foal when spending €40,000 on a Fame And Glory colt (pictured) offered by Caroline Berry out of the Epervier Bleu mare Full Of Birds. The June-born colt is a half-brother to recent Wetherby novices’ hurdle winner Draytonian.
“He has been bought on spec and could be back as a three-year- old. I know the family well, as I bought Draytonian and this horse’s yearling full-brother (for €50,000) at the February Sale early in the year. He’s a good sort,” said Murphy.
Also popular was a Fame And Glory sibling to G3-winning novice hurdler Three Stars who was snapped up by Bickerton Bloodstock for €39,000.
