Five-time G1 winner Fame And Glory (6h Montjeu-Gryada, by Shirley Heights) made a pleasing seasonal comeback at Navan on Sunday when landing the Listed Vintage Crop Stakes for a second consecutive season.
The brilliant son of Montjeu, who was bred by Ptarmigan Bloodstock and Kirsten Rausing, is likely to bid for a second consecutive success in the G1 Gold Cup at Royal Ascot after this cosy success under Joseph O’Brien.
“He ran quite fresh down the back. I had a nice position on the bend going away from the stands and then he changed his legs and took off a bit. He just got a bit tired which he was entitled to on his first run of the year,” O’Brien told www.irishracing.com
