Fastnet Rock Colt Tops First Session NZB Ready to Run

An athletic bay colt by champion sire Fastnet Rock has topped the first session of the 2015 NZB Ready to Run Sale at Karaka in New Zealand in Wednesday.

Consigned for sale by Jamieson Park, the colt from Irish bred Sweet Emotion fetched $320,000 to the bid of NZB on behalf of Hong Kong buyer William Tai.

“We have been coming to the Ready to Run Sale for a number of years now and have purchased many good horses from the sale,” commented Tai.

“We purchased Champion Griffin All You Wish three years ago at this sale.

“We have had some luck with Fastnet Rock in Hong Kong so that helped draw us to him and I think this horse will go very well up there too.

“I just liked the horse, he breezed very well. He will go to Hong Kong next July and I hope he can be the next All You Wish.”

The star colt was bought as a pinhook by Jamieson Park from the Coolmore draft at the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale earlier this year for $160,000.

He is a half-brother to Group I placed stakes-winner Winged Cupid and is from stakes-placed Sweet Emotion, who has foaled again this spring producing another colt by Fastnet Rock.
