Fastnet Rules Inglis Easter

Currently leading the Australian General Sires List by earnings and stakes-winners, champion sire Fastnet Rock was also king of the sale ring this week at the 2015 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale.

The superstar son of Danehill sired the top priced filly of the sale and had five of the 10 yearlings that sold for $1million or more to finish as the leading sire by average.

Fastnet Rock had 47 yearlings average $476,809 and generated $22,410,000 in turnover accounting for some 22% of the aggregate of the sale.

He finished the sale with a flourish siring the only seven figure yearling on the final day of trade when his filly from Hips Don’t Lie fetched $1million for Coolmore when secured by Victorian trainer John Sadler under the Aquanita Racing banner.

A full sister to this season’s Group I placed juvenile Lake Geneva who will race at Randwick this Saturday, she is the third foal of brilliant Group II winning juvenile Hips Don’t Lie, whose previous two foals also by Fastnet Rock, have sold for $900,000 and $1million.

She has another filly to follow and is back in foal to Fastnet Rock again.
