Fifth Stakes-Winner for Scat Daddy

Hot young sire Scat Daddy has posted a new stakes-winner in the last days of 2011 with Lady of Shamrock (2f Scat Daddy x Blushing Issue, by Blushing John) taking out the $81,000 Blue Norther Stakes at Santa Anita.

Having her fourth start, but first for new connections, the John Sadler trained filly skipped clear to win the one mile contest on the turf by two and three-quarter lengths, her overall record now two wins from four starts.

Winning rider Garrett Gomez was impressed with her performance.

“I worked her a couple of weeks ago,” Gomez revealed.

“We were very excited about this race. They were flying early. My filly was able to run by them pretty easily.”

Lady of Shamrock is a half-sister to Grade II winner Smooth Jazz, stakes-winner She’s Sensational and is one of five winners from Blushing Issue, a half-sister to Grade I winner Royal Chariot.

She is the fifth first crop stakes-winner for leading young sire Scat Daddy joining Daddy Long Legs, Finale, Shared Property and Swag Daddy.
