First-crop Most Improved foal is Goffs sales topper

Most Improved’s foals have made a big impression this year and the G1 St James’s Palace Stakes hero was responsible for the top lot on the first day of Goffs’ November Sale on Monday.

Out of the Jazil mare Mafaaza, the colt was bred by Aidan Sexton and offered from Sweep Lane Stud.

He looks set to be reoffered as a yearling after being sold for €39,000 to a pinhooking syndicate headed by Gerry Aherne. “He’s been bought for a new venture, the Castlehyde foal syndicate, and the intention is that he will be back to one of the yearling sales. We felt he was the best colt today,” said Aherne.

Most Improved is standing for €4,000 in 2016.
