Blue-blooded filly Trophy Wife (3f Giant’s Causeway x Pleasant Home, by Seeking the Gold) broke through for her first victory at Belmont during the week.
A homebred for the Phipps Stable, prepared by Claude R McGaughey III, Trophy Wife cruised home to win the seven furlong maiden by three and a half lengths at her fourth start.
Placed twice previously, Trophy Wife will no doubt take confidence from the win.
Trophy Wife is the second winner for former top racemare Pleasant Home, winner of the Grade I Breeders Cup Distaff.
A Grade I winner with a big pedigree, Pleasant Home comes from a family steeped in Black Type including Grade I winners Maplejinsky, Sky Beauty and Tale of Ekati, so Trophy Wife will be a very valuable filly if she can gain some Black Type of her own.
