The consistent Emily Gray (8m Flemensfirth-Rose Island, by Jupiter Island) had her third black-type success when going out with a win in the G3 John & Chich Fowler Memorial EBF Mares Chase at Fairyhouse on Monday.
The Kim Bailey-trained mare went on to win by a length and a quarter under Jonathan Burke. She had been leased to owner John Perriss and will now retire to the paddocks.
“She’s a fair mare and when I took the pull she jumped well in behind them and kept me bang there,” said Burke. “I gave her a belt turning in and she took off. She’s very tough and jumps great which is what you want.”
